Growcer - Snapshot_001
Accessibility in a Growcer farm

What does a wheelchair accessible farm look like?

Ask Reena who collaborated with Growcer and the Rick Hansen Foundation to develop the first accessible modular farm in Canada.

This farm has:

✅ Wider door widths and lower table heights

✅ Power operated doors plus a sliding door to the grow room

✅ Space for a wheelchair to turn at the back of the farm

✅  And many other small, but noticeable, improvements to make growing locally accessible for all operators.

Watch Fred with Reena walkthrough the farm and all its unique features ⬇️

We tend to think of plants growing outside with sunlight and soil, but other ways of getting light and nutrients are just as viable. That’s where hydroponics growing comes in because hydroponics is growing plants in nutrient-rich water, without soil and it's how plants grow inside a Growcer farm.
